Biography

A graduate engineer from Télécom Bretagne (IMT Atlantique) in 2001, Yann Fouassier began his career as an embedded systems engineer at a major American mobile phone company, where his main activity was software development of protocol layers for 3GPP standards. In 2013, he joined another American giant, a semiconductor manufacturer, where he worked on software systems integration for processors used in consumer telecommunications products (smartphones, tablets, connected devices, etc.).

After gaining solid expertise in telecommunications and embedded systems, he joined Santarelli in 2016. Since then, he has advised on all matters relating to the acquisition, exploitation, and defense of patents for clients in the digital technology sector, with applications ranging from satellite telecommunications and IoT networks to medical robotics.

He guides his clients in developing their patent portfolios in France and abroad. Yann Fouassier is a French Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney (EPO). He is also authorized to represent clients before the Unified Patent Court (UPC). In addition, as part of IPEC (International Patent Evaluation Consortium), he participates in patent essentiality evaluations with respect to mobile telephony, Wi-Fi, audio/video coding, and wireless charging standards.
