Biography

Stéphanie Gadal advises not only innovative companies—from technology start-ups to established industries—but also public research organizations in the protection and valorization of their intangible assets, in France and internationally. She guides and advises her clients throughout the entire process of obtaining intellectual property rights, from filing patent applications to grant. She also assists or represents her clients in maintaining, exploiting, and defending their IP rights.

With more than 25 years of experience, she has filed and obtained over 150 patents for a public research organization, several of which directly led to the creation of start-ups and spin-offs.

Holding dual degrees as an engineer from the Institut National Agronomique de Paris-Grignon and a PhD from Université Paris XI, and after conducting research in the biomedical field, Stéphanie began her career in intellectual property in 1999 at Biogemma, a company specializing in plant biotechnology. She then spent six years in another major Parisian IP firm before joining Santarelli in 2006. Stéphanie is a French Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney before the EPO, and a qualified Representative before the Unified Patent Court.

Passionate about biotechnology, Stéphanie regularly leads workshops for students and professionals. For nearly 10 years, she has also been teaching intellectual property at INP and ENSIACET in Toulouse. Outside her professional activities, she nurtures her curiosity and analytical mindset through her passion for cultural and historical travel.
