Biography

With more than twenty-three years of experience in intellectual property and patents, Samuel Deschamps advises innovative SMEs, public research institutes, start-ups, and large industrial groups on protecting their inventions, as well as on the valorization and defense of their intellectual property rights.

A European Patent Attorney for over nineteen years, Samuel has extensive experience with proceedings before the European Patent Office, particularly oral proceedings and appeals. He has worked both in industry and in private practice.

During more than four years in the Intellectual Property and Licensing Department of a major international group specializing in innovative technologies, notably video and audio, he was responsible for protecting inventions from a research laboratory focused on advanced networking technologies and participated in license negotiations with Asian partners. Samuel is also an evaluator for the IPEC (International Patent Evaluation Consortium), where he carries out essentiality assessments with respect to standards.
