Biography
Mickaël Mex entered the profession in 2006 and joined the firm in 2008, becoming a partner in 2021. As a French Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney, and qualified Representative before the UPC, Mickaël specializes in mechanics and physics. He has developed strong expertise in the aeronautics sector, particularly in engines, as well as in the automotive industry.
With an initial background in engineering physics, he has also acquired solid skills in optics and electronics, which he puts at the service of a diverse clientele. His goal is to be a trusted partner for his clients—whether large industrial groups, SMEs, or independent inventors—by understanding their specific needs, offering tailored solutions, and helping them define a coherent protection strategy.
Particularly skilled in drafting complex patents, Mickaël brings both rigorous precision and strategic creativity to each case. By combining these qualities, he ensures optimal protection of innovations and supports his clients in achieving their strategic goals. His expertise also extends to opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO). Over the past five years, he has handled around ten proceedings, mostly offensive, all of which were successful. A notable recent case: T1754/19, in which Mickaël secured a complete reversal of an unfavorable first-instance decision, resulting in the revocation of the challenged patent.
