Biography

Gwendal Barbaut is a lawyer at the Paris Bar and a founding partner of IPSIDE AVOCAT, which he heads. He began his career in London in the intellectual property department of the British firm Addleshaw Goddard before joining the Paris office of Veron, Ribeyre & Associés, and later the firm Bird & Bird.

Over the years, Gwendal Barbaut has developed expertise in all areas of intellectual property. He advises and litigates in matters relating to patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights, software, and related rights (strategy implementation, infringement proceedings, unfair competition, entitlement claims, invalidity, revocation), before national and international IP courts and offices (UPC, EUIPO, General Court of the EU, etc.).

He is also an accredited lecturer with the European Union and has contributed to the training of judges in new EU Member States in the field of intellectual property.

His practice areas include intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights), unfair competition and parasitism, new technologies (domain names, cyber-attacks, personal data protection), as well as commercial law, consumer law, and distribution law.
