Brevet International

What is the difference between a French, European and international (PCT) patent?

A French patent protects an invention only in France.
A European patent allows protection in multiple European countries through a centralised procedure, followed by national validation.
An international patent application (PCT) does not grant a worldwide patent but facilitates international protection by postponing country selection and related costs.

Choosing the right route depends on target markets, timing and overall patent strategy.
